Offline Content - (E-Library)

posted Jun 16, 2017, 11:45 PM by indiaEschool   [ updated Jun 16, 2017, 11:45 PM ]

Our policy is not to download content from the E-Library as it is from different content providers and it legally belongs to them. However, to overcome the last minute connectivity problem we are in the process of forming backend partnerships with Content Providers so that content of the E-Library can be made available in an offline mode and the E-class can run without interruptions and hassles.

At the onset, depending upon the partnership arrangement with the Content Providers and the requirement of the schools, we will provide limited off-line content at additional costs. The rest of the intervention Plan remains the same and proper workshops, training, hand-holding, monitoring and evaluation shall be provided to all the schools/tuition centers as per mutually agreed plan.

Glad to announce that our 'Learning Centres' practice got selected for the joint publication of British Council and Central Square Foundation .

".....IndiaEschool has worked with pilot Learning Centres and partnered with 'low-income' schools, focusing on usage of Information & Communication Technology (ICT), online educational content and the power of internet. There has also been a clear focus on developing capability / capacity of teachers and instructors who work in these schools.

Increasing availability and affordability of data and mobile connectivity, can solve problems related to actual teaching-learning delivery at the classroom level to a great extent......"

Using ICT To Augment Teaching Practices In Low Income Schools - (Interview)

posted Nov 8, 2016, 11:10 PM by indiaEschool   [ updated Feb 14, 2017, 1:14 AM ]

There are a number of players in the ‘ICT for Education’ space in India. India E-Schools is a rare organisation that curates education content and maps it to the NIOS curriculum of low income schools in the country and helps augment the education that students in these are receiving. Quality of education in our schools is a grave concern and India E-Schools’ role in helping address this concern is meritorious.

Networked India spoke to Vijay Raina who created the IndiaESchool Trust and the organisation that works with the low income schools. Read on to know more about how something that started with a simple aim to augment current teaching practices has become a necessity, the challenges our schools face, how this organisation is tackling some of the pain points, their goals and the challenges they face in achieving.

Test Trials for Jio WiFi and E-classes at IndiaEschool.com

posted Oct 4, 2016, 9:13 PM by indiaEschool   [ updated Oct 4, 2016, 9:23 PM ]

Here I would like to thank you for Jio WiFi Router. It's been more than a decade that I have been using the Internet while on go and must have used almost all the possible option available in the market. But this time travelling with Jio has been a wonderful experience. I drove from Delhi to Agra, Gwalior, Jhansi, Oracha, Khajuraho, Chitrakoot, Allahabad, Bodhgaya, Gaya, Varanasi, and back to Delhi. The router was on throughout the journey.

As you know by nature I love travelling to remote places. There were occasions while my phone was out of network but I was still connected to the Internet and surprisingly with a better speed than my place at Delhi and broadband at 3-star hotels... The drop in connection or slow speed was observed while crossing the states boundaries particularly driving between MP and UP at Chitrakoot, Jhansi and between Varanasi and Mughal Sarai. But overall experience was good.

I spoke to a couple of Jio users . A Jio user at Chitrakoot had an opinion that since the number of user on the network are less the speed is good but once the user base increases the speed may go down. But I guess this is just an apprehension.

I didn't do any speed test because I never felt a need for it. I understand this is a trial period but I will still be interested to know  how much it would have costed?

Next trip is to Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, Jammu and back to Delhi.
Till then take care.

Ravi
