The Narendra Modi government has been trying to frame a new National Education Policy (NEP) for the past three years. In January 2015, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) launched an “unprecedented collaborative, multi-stakeholder and multi-pronged consultation process” covering 33 themes across the country. In October 2015, it appointed a committee headed by former Cabinet Secretary TSR Subramanian to draft an NEP................"

He set up his own WiFi router, and gave each child a tablet on which they could download Android apps, lessons from the teacher’s tablet, and access an offline library on a one-terabyte hard disk that Gund populated with his research.........."
